Aeronautica Militare - BRAND HISTORY

History of the Aeronautica Militare brand began back in 1960 in Italy - the birthplace of world fashion. Most of the world's famous brands were created in Italy, as their creators have always been inspired by this country full of creativity and art. However, the history of the Aeronautica Militare brand is not the history of an ordinary fashion brand. This is the story of a traditionally masculine brand, which began with an exclusively masculine business - the army. The fact is that after World War II, all countries began an arms race, and Italy was no exception. In the mid-twentieth century, one of the most effective forces was military aviation, so the emphasis was primarily on its development. And while the technological aspect of military aviation has developed rapidly, the aspect of protecting people from the cold has remained almost untouched. Nowadays, military and civil aircraft have all the amenities for the pilot, but 50 years ago there was nothing in the pilot’s cockpit other than the instrument panel. Moreover, some aircraft models even had an open cockpit, which is why the first thing pilots encountered was frostbite at high altitudes. Therefore, any military aircraft pilot was forced to provide himself with warm clothing. The men wore everything they had at home in order to be able to keep warm during the flight, and this is what became the causes of tragic incidents, because having a large amount of clothing, the pilot loses most of his mobility, as a result of which he cannot maneuver normally, which became the causes of many disasters. A solution to this problem was proposed to Christian Sperotto, a young master who was just beginning his journey in the path of a local master of warm outerwear. The first pilot jacket that Sperotto created did not meet the requirements at all, and when climbing to an altitude of more than 4000 meters, people continued to freeze. Then he decided to approach the issue completely differently.

The pilot's jacket, according to Sperotto, had to be made from natural tanned leather. Firstly, it contained moisture and dampness. Secondly, in airplanes with an open cockpit, air with small particles of frozen water and dust, as well as strong winds, could have absolutely no effect on the human body, since rough tanned leather has a very high density and strength. In addition, if the pilot had to eject, this jacket could protect the body from minor bruises or cuts from branches when landing with a parachute. Therefore, he believed that the jacket should definitely be made of this type of leather. However, such a jacket did not protect against frost in any way, and ordinary fleece insulation did not provide the proper level of protection. Therefore, he decided to approach this aspect differently.

Christiano Sperotto decided to make the insulation for the inside of the jacket from ordinary short-cropped fur, as in the analogy with sheepskin coats. And it brought great results! The fur really retained heat inside the jacket well, and at the same time, due to its small volume, did not at all restrict the pilot’s movements. This allowed him to keep his hands free and fly the plane without any interference. Thus, Cristiano Sperotto created genuine leather pilot jackets that were ideal: they were both practical and comfortable, and at the same time had a camouflage look, which was stylish. This is how he won the tender to produce pilot jackets for the Italian Air Force. For the next 5 years, the designer was exclusively engaged in the creation and sewing of these very jackets, which became known throughout Italy. Every boy wanted to wear his father's pilot jacket to show off to others. Many men also wanted to buy such a jacket for themselves, since its high level of practicality was useful not only for pilots, but also in everyday life. That is why, at the end of the contract with the Italian Air Force, Christiano Sperotto decided to start creating clothes not only for the army.

In 1960 it was officially registered. The brand logo became the official logo of the Italian Air Force, which Sperotto personally agreed with the Italian Ministry of Defense. It is from this moment that the history of the Aeronautica Militare brand as a full-fledged fashion house begins. At first, Aeronautica Militare produced exclusively outerwear, which was the specialty of this brand. Naturally, on each jacket there was not only the Aeronautica Militare logo, but also stripes with the emblems of various Italian flight divisions, such as Stormo, Gruppo, Black Cats, Reparto Sperimentale Volo, Brigata Aerea and so on. However, the matter did not move further - Sperotto did not want to expand his brand and was creating only outerwear, and only men's clothing, and women's Aeronautica Military jackets It was first produced only in 1969. However, all this changed 15 years after the brand was founded.

In 1975, the sons of Christiano Sperotto, Armando and Paolo, came to manage the brand, after which the company expanded and gained fame not only throughout Italy, but also in Europe. The first thing the two young designers did was decide to expand the range produced by the brand, as well as make its main feature - military style in all products. Since then, he began producing military pants, camouflage T-shirts, military caps and caps, camouflage shorts and much more. All this increased the demand for clothing, because at that time the world was shaking with fear of the Cold War and the topic of militarization was acute everywhere. And first of all, this could be seen in fashion. That is why in the seventies and eighties the demand for the Aeronautica Militare brand was incredibly high, since everyone wanted to show with their appearance that they were not afraid of anything and were ready to protect both themselves and their loved ones. Later, after the truce of all countries, the demand for Aeronautics Military clothing fell somewhat, as fashion moved towards more peaceful clothing, and all the subcultural movements of that time, for example, hippies, began to use clothing in their images, which was directly the opposite of the style used Aeronautica Militare brand.

However, the change in trends did not at all knock down the arrogance of Armando and Paolo Sperotto. They felt that this was a great opportunity to enrich the brand’s assortment with fresh and new ideas. Over the next few years, they worked on a new collection of the brand in a casual style without using military style. The created collection of this brand had a style inherent only to Italian companies: rigor, elegance, sophistication. In this case, both classic colors and fashionable, bright and rich colors were used. However, the brand’s “trick” remained unchanged - each model of the new collection featured the brand’s corporate logo, as well as the emblems of the Italian Air Force flight divisions. It was from then that the brand began to actively develop and keep up with the times, while elegantly combining them with its family tradition. To date Aeronautica Militare brand creates clothes and accessories for both men and women, mostly in a casual style. You can easily find both clothes in military colors and clothes in regular colors, while all the clothes come out only of premium class, since the brand that produces clothes for the military is famous primarily for the highest level of quality standards, which are difficult to find in Europe. If you want to buy casual clothes of high quality and masculine style - you should definitely buy Aeronautica Militare clothing.

Aeronautica Militare is a famous Italian brand belonging to the premium “military” style. It stands out for its fashionable modern models with a large number of military-themed decorative elements. Designed for those who love this style and are demanding of its design and quality.

The history of the brand began in 1960, with a handmade atelier, which was opened in the city of Thiene (Italy) by Christian Sperotto. It specialized in the production of high quality leather clothing. The products were classified as casual wear and were in good demand on the market.

In 1979, the father brought his sons Armando and Paolo to work, after which the company expanded and became famous throughout Italy.

At the beginning of 2000 The company applied to the General Staff of the Italian Air Force for permission to use the “Aeronautica Militare” logo (translated from Italian as “air force”) and the original emblem in the form of tricolor arrows, which is the symbol of the country’s leading aerobatic team, in its clothing. In 2004, the General Staff gave its consent, and this time is considered the beginning of the triumph of the Aeronautica Militare brand throughout the world.

Over time, many different lines of clothing and accessories have been developed. They are based on olive color, the presence of cut details inherent in military uniforms, and military-themed decor (embroidery, prints). The products are popular among people who are in love with aerobatics, aviation and the Italian lifestyle. They are worn to fashionable parties and worn in everyday life.

All decorative elements (insignia, badges, embroideries, prints) in the Aeronautica Militare collections are original. They are made based on army designs that are still in use in the Italian Air Force today. The presence of the “AM” emblem on products indicates their exclusivity and high quality.

Among the products presented on the Russian market are outerwear and regular clothing, hats, boots, T-shirts and much more. Jackets and raincoats, coats and fur coats, winter down jackets and sheepskin coats are on sale. They were produced taking into account our climate and will be convenient in any region of the country.

High combat boots with laces up to the middle of the shin and a “tractor” rubber sole. They are lightweight and will support the wearer on steep slopes and icy roads.

Today, the AM logo (along with the Cockpit and Parajumpers) is a password indicating the high status of the owner and his special attitude to the life of the military.
