Today, December 22, 2017, the New Year's festival officially begins in the city, already this week the installation of the New Year's decorations of the city took place, and the lights were turned on, and today the New Year's fairs were opened, which will run until January 14. All the most interesting and spectacular things are concentrated, of course, on Tverskaya, Tverskoy Boulevard, Kamergersky Lane, the square near the Bolshoi Theater, Red Square and Okhotny Ryad.

The recommended route can be taken from any direction. If you are planning to go to the center by car, then it would be optimal, of course, to leave it in the parking lot of the Fashion Season shopping center (formerly the Moscow Hotel), the entrance is opposite the State Duma from Okhotny Ryad, the cost of the first three hours of parking is 200 rubles. Next you go to Red Square and through Nikolskaya to the Bolshoi Theater, then back to Tverskaya and up to Pushkinskaya.

If you don’t want to stand in traffic jams (and they will be strong until the New Year holidays) and take the metro, then it would be optimal to go on Tverskaya to Novopushkinsky Square and Bolshaya Bronnaya, from here we will begin our virtual walk:

A large-scale open-air ice theater was erected in Novopushkinsky Square. Here, every day, starting from December 22 and ending on January 14, ice ballets will be staged by the master of figure skating Pyotr Chernyshev. During breaks between shows, the skating rink will be available to everyone. More detailed information and production schedules are available.

In general, the theme of the city's decoration this year is one way or another dedicated to the theater - stages, curtains, theater stages. They promise that the city will turn into an open-air theater. Moreover, Tverskaya, Mokhovaya and Okhotny Ryad streets will be closed in connection with the Journey to Christmas festival from December 30, 2017 until 06:00 January 3, 2018.

This is not the first year in Moscow that the Italian company Group Festi, one of the world leaders in the design and installation of light installations from South America to Japan, has been working on similar arched structures for the holiday.

This tunnel, decorations on the pillars of Tverskaya and in a number of alleys were carried out by a French company (Blachér Illumination), which, in addition to an international website, also has an extensive portfolio of work in Russia.

On New Year's Eve, festival sites in the center of the capital, as well as in Zelenograd and on Profsoyuznaya Street will be open until 03.00.

Big holiday concert on Revolution Square will also begin at 23:00 on December 31 and end at three in the morning. The headliner of the New Year's stage will be singer Yulianna Karaulova.

"Vysotsky's Apartment House" awaits visitors on New Year's Eve Tagansky Park. In January 2018, the legendary actor and bard would have turned 80 years old. Spectators will see a large-scale and colorful gala performance, a creative performance-potpourri of Vysotsky’s roles and songs.

In the park "Krasnaya Presnya" the new year will begin with a tangerine party and music performed by a brass band of snowmen, and in the Hermitage garden Three color photo zones will open. New Year's mapping: fabulous light shows

From December 31 to January 2, a unique light show will be a real gift to all residents and guests of the capital. Light projections will appear on Moscow Triumphal Gate and on the walls Pavilion No. 1 “Central” at VDNKh.

For three days, from 19.00 to 23.00, video clips dedicated to the New Year will be broadcast on the sites. The total light projection area will be more than 1 thousand sq. m.

Guests of VDNKh Park will see a touching New Year's tale about friendship, and will seem to plunge into a child's New Year's dream. The second plot will be a “Movie Medley” with characters from your favorite films and fairy tales.

The New Year's mood is already felt in the capital: Moscow is preparing for the Journey to Christmas festival and is turning into a winter fairy tale, despite the dull weather, despite the gloomy sky, despite the rain and slush, in spite of this, not at all wintery December. On Friday evening, millions of lights, colorful and bright, will light up throughout the city.

Twist, spectacular rotation, sheepskin coat. Feel your partner and the whole team. Ice theater actors rehearse New Year's performances. The repertoire includes “Swan Lake”, “The Nutcracker”, “Snow White”, “Cipollino”. This year, “Cinderella” was also added to the list of fairy-tale productions, reports.

“We chose this fairy tale because Cinderella is one of the kindest and most famous fairy tales in the world, we wanted to move a little away from the previous concepts of all our productions, introduce a little more interesting props, interesting transformations in costumes, we have a horse that doesn’t speak, but dances on ice," said artistic director of the ice theater Pyotr Chernyshev.

Rehearsals take place at the indoor skating rink while the main stage is being prepared. The ice theater in Novopushkinsky Park is almost ready. Workers check the LEDs, every centimeter of ice will shine. The stands are decorated with bas-reliefs.

“We plan to open at 12 noon, there will be mass skating, after that there will be two performances, then again mass skating, then again a performance. There will be a busy evening program at the end of the last performance,” noted the technical director of the skating rink, Galina Egorova.
