The mystery of why trees don’t stop growing is still unsolved. Human beings usually stop growing sometime during their teens. Many animals reach full growth within a year. Others are fully grown in just a few years. Birds and insects also stop growing at a certain age. But trees keep growing as long as they live.

Trees live, grow, and reproduce themselves by an amazing process. The thousands of leaves put out by the tree breathe for it and manufacture its food. Its root system gathers minerals and vast quantities of water. To carry this water to the leaves, the tree is equipped with an intricate circulation system that extends upward from the millions of root hairs through the trunk and branches. The trunk holds the leaves up to the sunlight, sends them water from the roots, and gets food back from them. Then seeds are borne in flowers or cones.

  • what/who is in the photo
  • what is happening
  • why you keep the photo in your album
  • why did you decide to show the picture to your friend

Important!

Please note the changes that have occurred in the wording of task 3:

  • paragraph 1 Where and when the photo was taken When you took the photo) - this means that when completing this task, it now does not matter who took the photo (you, your friends or relatives), that is, according to Verbitskaya M.V. “Anyone could have taken this photo” (watch the webinar Verbitskaya M.V. “Technologies of preparation for the OGE and the Unified State Exam”)
  • point 4 Why do you keep this photo in your album(was Why did you take this photo)

You have to talk continuously, starting with:

"I've chosen photo number… "

Sample answer

I"ve chosen photo number 1.

I should say that my family means a lot to me because they are people I can always rely on.

I took this photo two months ago when my parents and I went to Voronezh to visit my elder brother’s family. Recently they have moved into a new flat and invited us to a house-warming party. I always enjoy our trips to Voronezh and think it is a very nice place to live in.

You can see my brother Max, his wife Julia and their daughter Stacy. They are sitting on a comfortable white sofa in the living room. Stacy is sitting on her mother’s lap. They are smiling and seem to be very happy because at last their dream came true. I should say that Max loves his daughter and wife very much and always takes care of them.

There is a white bookcase with open shelves. I like their decision to furnish the room in white color because it makes the room look wider. As my brother works as a journalist for a local newspaper you can see a lot of books and magazines on the shelves.

My brother lives quite far from our hometown and we can’t see each other very often. So, I always take pictures of him and his family to recollect the moments we spent together. Moreover, I used this photo for my school project called “My Family Tree”. That's why I keep this photo in my album.

I decided to show this photo to you because you have never seen my niece Stacy who is a very cute and bright girl before.

That's all I wanted to say.

Sample answer

I"ve chosen photo number 3 . (Be sure to start your answer with this phrase, after selecting the photo number).

You know, I’ve got a lot of pictures connected with New Year and Christmas celebrations in my album, but this one is special because our friends from Germany, Hilda and Otto, sent it for us.

It was taken on the 25 th of December in their home in Dresden.

Of course, you can’t see Hilda because she was trying to capture this wonderful moment and I think she did her best.

In the foreground of the picture you can see her husband Otto and her daughter Greta. They are both in a festive mood, smiling at each other. Greta is wearing a lovely red dress which is a traditional color of Christmas. Her hair is nicely done in curls. She is carrying a Christmas present which, she believes, was brought by Santa Claus. The father and the daughter look very happy.

In the background of the picture there is a decorated Christmas tree.

Hilda’s hobby is photography and she used some special effects such as falling snow in the picture that’s why it looks so magic.

I keep this photo in my album because it’s a kind of “Hello” and a Christmas greeting from our friends from abroad. (I keep this photo in my album because it reminds me of the joy of holiday seasons.)

I decided to show this picture to you because you are interested in photography too and you might also want to use these effects in your photos. So, I hope you enjoyed watching it.

That's all I wanted to say.(End your answer with this phrase)

Task 4. Study the two photographs. In 1.5 minutes be ready to compare and contrast the photographs:

  • give a brief description of the photos (action, location)
  • say what the pictures have in common
  • say in what way the pictures are different
  • say which of the activities presented in the pictures you’d prefer
  • explain why

Now I will compare and contrast these two photos.

I would like to point out right from the beginning that hobbies make our life more exciting. And these two photos prove that.

I think that the theme which relates these photos are the way people spend them free time.

Let me start with the first picture which shows a young girl who is in the kitchen at the moment. It looks like she is going to cook a vegetarian dish because on the left side of the picture you can see a lot of fresh vegetables . I get the impression that the girl leads a healthy life style as she looks very slim and sporty. Although she is wearing shorts and a top, it is not clear from the picture what season of the year it is.

As for the second picture it also shows a young girl who is enjoying snowboarding in her free time. She is wearing goggles, mittens, and special sports clothing that may protect her from the strong wind when she slides down the hill . Unfortunately, I can’t see her wearing a helmet which might be dangerous. It seems to me she feels excited and looks very confident balancing her snowboard.

As I've already mentioned both photos depict people’s hobbies. The main similarity between photo 1 and photo 2 is that they show young girls who are practically of the same age. Both girls keep fit and seem to be in a good mood enjoying their leisure time.

The most obvious difference between these pictures is kinds of hobbies which are cooking and snowboarding. Moreover, the girl in photo 1 is wearing summer clothes and is depicted indoors, while the girl in photo 2 is wearing warm clothes and is shown outdoors. To my mind she is taking a risk going snowboarding.

Russian language is one of the main compulsory subjects for the examination. In order for the examination in the discipline to be completed successfully, FIPI specialists have developed such a manual as demo version of the Unified State Exam in Russian 2016 FIPI. The materials were based on KIMs previous years, and the demo project itself was previously approved by Rosobrnadzor. The manual is publicly available and download demo version of Russian language 2016 possible on our website.

Externally, the demo version resembles exam tasks. The structure of the questions and their form generally remained unchanged, with the exception that the data offered in the demo versions will never be used on the state exam.

The purpose of using the demo option is for the graduate to 11th grade could independently prepare for the passage Russian language exams and other items.

The objectives of using the demo version are such that the manual should help the student draw up a plan for passing the test, namely, decide on topics that require additional study, practice completing tasks for a while, and pay attention to the most difficult questions.

Structure of the demo version in Russian 2016

The structuring of the tasks proposed in the demo version of the Unified State Examination in the Russian language is presented in the same form in which they will be offered to a teenager during the exam. In addition to the tasks and answers to these tasks, the manual pays a lot of attention to information regarding the state exam procedure. The appendix specifies the conditions for assessing work and the requirements for formatting the answer.

The peculiarity of the Russian language examination is that in order to obtain admission to the state exam, the student must write an essay. Essay on the demo version of the Unified State Examination in the Russian language 2016 is an example for a student to pass a similar test before the state exam.

What the demo version has in common with the real exam is that it uses the same structure and the same forms of tasks that will be offered on the Unified State Exam. The exception is the data in the assignments - they cannot be reused in the exam.

Next year to the structure KIMov Some amendments will be made to the Russian language. They will touch on the first group of questions. Tasks for which you must select answers from several proposed ones will be excluded. Also, in the third group there will be a new mini-essay task.

Working with the demo version in Russian

Demo versions can be downloaded and used electronically. You can use the application online, or you can print downloaded application. The best option for initial preparation is, of course, printed. This decision is due to the fact that some notes can be made on the paper copy regarding topics or formatting of answers.

To work with the materials, you must first download them, print them and familiarize yourself with the contents of the manual. First, you should go through all the questions without reading the answers and see what your initial level of preparation is. After this, you need to check all the questions and answers and mark those tasks that require additional training. Particular attention should be paid to the group of questions that are the most complex. This is necessary so that during the exam you do not waste time on parsing these tasks, and begin immediately. Such tasks are rated quite highly, therefore, the more such tasks a student completes correctly, the better the USE result as a whole.

It is extremely important to pay attention to what conditions are indicated regarding the formatting of responses. If the answers are not formatted properly, the assignment will not be counted.

It is also worth practicing how much time it takes to answer each question and how to allocate the given hours.

Pros and cons of the 2016 Russian language demo

The appearance of a demo version of the Russian language allowed schoolchildren to save time searching for manuals to prepare for Unified State Exam. Also, with the help of demonstration materials, graduates not only train on how to complete complex tasks, but also contain quite important information regarding the structure of tasks, the form of questions, and topics. In addition, the manual includes information on how each question is scored and how to complete the most difficult tasks. The materials are quite clearly structured, which allows you to find any question you are interested in very quickly.

However, this preparation method also has disadvantages. The manual contains a limited number of tasks, which cannot cover all possible options for CMMs. Also, in order to complete the most difficult tasks, it is necessary to prepare using additional manuals, collections, textbooks. Only A complex approach will solve the problem of training at a high quality level.

Specification
control measuring materials
for holding the unified state exam in 2016
in MATHEMATICS (profile level)

1. Purpose of control measuring materials

Control measuring materials (CMM) make it possible to establish the level of mastery by graduates of the Federal component of the state educational standard of secondary (complete) general education.
The results of the unified state exam in mathematics are recognized by general education organizations that implement educational programs of secondary (complete) general education as the results of state (final) certification, and by educational institutions of secondary vocational education and educational institutions of higher vocational education as the results of entrance tests in mathematics.

2. Documents defining the content of control measuring materials

“On approval of the federal component of state standards for primary general, basic general and secondary (complete) general education”).

3. Approaches to content selection and development of the structure of control measurement materials

The presented model of examination work in mathematics (codifiers of content elements and requirements for compiling KIM, demonstration version, assessment system of examination work) maintains continuity with the examination model of previous years in the subject matter, approximate content and level of complexity of tasks. However, there are changes compared to the 2015 model. In order to optimize the structure of the option in the context of the transition to a two-level exam, two tasks were excluded from the first part.

Completing the tasks of part 1 of the examination paper (tasks 1-8) indicates the presence of general mathematical skills necessary for a person in modern society. The tasks in this part test basic computational and logical skills, the ability to analyze information presented in graphs and tables, use the simplest probabilistic and statistical models, and navigate the simplest geometric structures. Part 1 of the work includes assignments on all main sections of the mathematics course: geometry (planimetry and stereometry), algebra, principles of mathematical analysis, probability theory and statistics.

In order to effectively select graduates to continue their education in higher educational institutions with different requirements for the level of mathematical preparation of applicants, the tasks in Part 2 of the work test knowledge at the level of requirements that are traditionally required by universities with a specialized exam in mathematics. The last three tasks of Part 2 are intended for competitive selection into universities with increased requirements for the mathematical preparation of applicants.

The system that successfully proved itself in 2010-2015 was retained. system for assessing tasks with a detailed answer. This system, which continues the tradition of final and entrance examinations in mathematics, is based on the following principles.

1. Various methods and recordings of the expanded solution are possible. The main requirement is that the solution must be mathematically literate; the reasoning of the author of the work must be clear from it. As for the rest (method, form of recording), the decision can be arbitrary. The completeness and validity of the reasoning is assessed regardless of the chosen solution method. At the same time, the graduate’s progress in solving the problem is assessed, and not shortcomings in comparison with the “standard” solution.

2. When solving a problem, you can use, without proof or reference, mathematical facts contained in textbooks and teaching aids recommended for use in the implementation of educational programs of secondary general education that have state accreditation.

This model of examination work is developed under the following assumptions.

1. Options for the Unified State Examination are formed on the basis and using an open bank of tasks in mathematics.

2. It is possible to conduct an exam both on this model and on the basic level version of the CMM.

The texts of the tasks of the proposed model of examination work generally correspond to the wording adopted in textbooks and teaching aids included in the Federal List of Textbooks recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for use in the implementation of educational programs of basic general and secondary general education that have state accreditation.
